Accountant

Under the direction of the CFO, performs accounting duties in a multiple company environment. Responsible for coordinating the oversight of accounting department staff, perform fiscal and budget analysis, reconciliations, and postings; assist in the development of financial statements, reports and project proposals. Work with company departments to develop or improve communications for reporting of costing, cash flow and financial analysis of operating results. Accountant will perform audits of records and adherence to company policies and procedures. This accountant role will expand, in time and experience, to include oversight of human resources, information technology development, business and legal review analysis and financial and tax reporting. It is a Remote vacancy so good internet connection and full-time availability are required virtually.

Responsibilities

  • Create monthly invoices and update client budgets

  • Update customer file and synch with system

  • Receive payments and prepare bank deposits

Accounts payable

  • Update vendor file 

  • Process vendor bills

  • Reconcile employee mileage against timesheets and process reimbursements

Payroll/HR

  • Update employee files including processing new employees paperwork

  • Approve timesheets weekly and synch with BELLA

  • Process month payroll utilizing BELLA software

  • Assist CFO in administration of employee benefit plans 

Fixed Assets

  • Reconcile at year-end in preparation of tax return

  • Prepare journal entries to record additions, deletions and depreciation

Job Costing

  • Reconcile income statement to job cost ledger monthly

  • Prepare journal entries to record interest and other miscellaneous entries quarterly

Other

  • Answer accounting inquiries from employees, customers and vendors

  • Maintain the chart of accounts and filing systems

  • Check calculations on contractor invoices before submission to client

  • Perform various duties as assigned

  • Interpret and apply accounting regulations, procedures, rules, policies and other guidelines associated with assigned functional area(s).

  • Establish and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Maintain a well-organized electronic data document system.

  • Prepare and provide training and assistance to administrative personnel where needed.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with employees, vendors and customers.

  • Work independently and confidentiality while meeting schedules and time lines.

  • Use interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy and has the ability to work as part of a team


You must have

  • Make sure you have a good Internet connection and optimal table or laptop computer for the development of your activities in the position.                                                                                                                   

  • Graduation from a four-year college with a degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Some accounting work experience required.
